Our canvas has been coated with an anti-fungal waterproofing agent that is effective for up to 60 weeks of use. Please note that cotton can, when new, let some water through and leak around the seams. After the canvas has been wet once this will no longer happen because of the cotton expanding.
The canvas is tested to adhere to European to BS5852 standards. This is the 'cigarette test' that shows that the tent will not ignite when burnt by the likes of a cigarette. If burnt with the likes of a gas burner it takes an average of five seconds to ignite and will not drip molten plastic as with polyester tents.
We provide a 3m, 4m, 5m bell tents. Or our luxury 6m Emporer tent. All our tents are purchased reputable UK suppliers.

Our Canopy Under the Stars package comes in 2 different sizes: 3.5m by 3.5m and 3m by 3m. We would need clear, flat ground to erect this.
Both our Cinematic Experiences will require a minimum of a 1m space between the projector and the screen.
For one of the indoor tepee or wig-wam hire you will 190 x 100cm. Please note these cannot be used outside.
All our equipment is safety checked and power washed/steam cleaned after and before every use. We will store all equipment for a minimum of 48 hours before use. We will also anti-bacterial clean upon the construction to be sure we are 100% confident.
All bedding/linen/blankets and soft furnishings including tepee and wigwam covers are laundered after every use and will be washed at 40 degree and with an anti-allergy and Dettol laundry cleanser.
Equipment is thoroughly cleaned vacuumed and stored before and after every use.
We are confirmed to be following all covid restrictions and are able to work safely.
Additional Covid measures included contact-free delivery; use of full PPE, namely gloves and face masks.
The team at Horizon Experiences understand how important experiences are for children and families. We will try our very best to accommodate all booking’s, it is always best to talk to the team at point of booking. We will always openly discuss access points in and out of your home/garden/open space.
Do please consider in mind all our set-ups come with a great deal of kit to ensure we offer the very best experience.
For all our outdoor experiences we will need access to a power supply. This can either be an outside plug socket or trailed safely through a window/patio door.
Our indoor sleepovers will not require any power supply for a standard package. If you opt for any additional’s, such as a popcorn machine, this will need a power supply.
Typically, our hiring period is approximately 24 hours. You can of course hire for longer periods. Give us a ring and we can discuss this with you.
We deliver within a 20-mile radius of Swindon free of charge, additional charges will be incurred per mile.
Preferably a grass pitch, rather than hard standing, which is on firm level ground with the grass cut short. When booking you’ll need to consider the overall ‘footprint’ of the bell tent which includes the guy ropes all the way around, allowing for an extra metre on each side. For example, the footprint of a 4m tent is 6m, a 5m tent is 7m. We can set up on artificial grass using weights, however, there will be 3 guy ropes that will need to be anchored (at the front of the bell tent). Please bear this in mind when booking.
We have multiple set-ups per day and start first thing in the morning. Set-ups are organised by location and length of time it takes to complete, safely. Please let us know of any specific time you want. Closer to the day, you will be contacted by a member of the team who will discuss a more specific time. If you require any different times, please do speak to us at the point of booking. Bad weather may cause delays.
Open Air Cinema
We welcome assistance dogs. Please be sure they look after themselves and just in case your dog needs to excuse themselves, it would be worth sitting close to the exit/entrance so as not to disturb other guests.
We discourage from other pets and dogs during our open air cinema so as not to cause anyone else distress and to ensure everyone gets the most out of their experience.
We understand that pets/dogs are part of the family. However, we do have to take into consideration other client’s allergies. If you would like to include your pet in the experience, please let us know at point of booking your experiences. This will include additional cleaning charges.
For us to protect our equipment and the security of your booking we will kindly request a £50 deposit which should be made upon receipt of invoice. The remaining balance should be paid 7-14 days prior to the booking date.
Please ensure you check your invoice for your due date. The £50 deposit will be paid back to you within 48 hours of the completion of the hire and once we have fully tested and checked all equipment. Any damages will be deducted from the deposit, and any further damages exceeding the deposit amount will be invoiced for immediate payment. We kindly ask our clients to respect all our equipment. The team spend a lot of time and energy preparing for your precious memories and experiences. Please ensure that you take care of everything you hire from us to the best of your ability.
Open Air Cinema
We don't offer any cancellation terms with our open air cinema if you can't make it. Once it's booked, we can't wait to see you there! If you can't make it, best thing might be to offer to a friend who could do with a night of fun!
If we have to cancel due to weather or some other techy/Covid reason, rest assured, you'll receive a full refund.
Cancellation of a booking up to 14 days prior to the event booking date will forfeit all deposit monies paid. Cancellation of any booking between 13 days and 7 days of an event will be refunded 25% of total monies paid. Cancellation of a booking 6 days prior to an event booking date will forfeit all monies paid
We have full public liability insurance. Please speak to us for a copy of our insurance policy or for more information.
We suggest bringing something to sit on (usually a picnic blanket or a low level camping chair). Whatever you bring, we'll make sure you can see! Those on picnic blankets will tend to go closer to the front and those on chairs, a bit further back.
VIP tickets are available that include the hire of our deck chairs which are based in the best locations for viewing.
Probably best to leave the camping sofa's home for this one, however, if you do happen to bring a larger sized chair we will ask you to sit further back so you don't block anyone else's view. Nothing more irritating then a head bobbing away in front.
You can find WC's located on all of our open air cinema locations. We will either have port-a-loos or location specific WC's.
If you require disabled access to WC's please get in touch to give us the heads up.
We try to work hard to make sure all our guests have the best viewing and sound quality. A pop up shelter could cause an obstruction and so we would kindly ask you not to bring any of these. Feel free to carry an umbrella just in case we need to combat our lovely British weather, all we ask is that you are mindful of those around you.
Oodles of free car parking on site and in the over flow car park next door! If you've not had the chance to explore the area, then well worth the adventure beforehand!
We have teamed up with some really wonderful food and beverage establishments that are based on site. Please take full advantage of your experience and grab a bite to eat or drink from one of these instead.
This is the only country we know where you can have all 4 seasons in one day. Come fully armed.
To face the colder summer nights you might bring some blankets/jumpers, maybe a coat/rain coat if you think you might get chilly. A torch is always handy to have around, most people use their phones, however, if you have one to hand, it's a great back up particularly on the way back to your car. A carrier bag for any rubbish.
Your tickets should be emailed to as soon as you've booked. Please check your spam/junk and if you still haven't received pop us a message and we will forward this on to you.
For any guest list tickets, they will be emailed to you 48 hours before the event date - again, please check your spam/junk and get in touch if you cant' find it.
Upon arrival, please show your tickets to the event staff at one of the 2 entrances, clearly marked. We try our best to be as green as we can, particularly while based in some of the countries most idyllic locations and so, if you can, have your ticket ready on your phone. If you need to print, please be sure to take away with you. (And recycle)!!!!
Great news! We will be on location from a few hours before the event and be able to help you organize there and then. That being said, we often do sell out in advance. That info is available via our website or via our third party seller, Eventbrite. Best to book via our website, if you can, so as not to avoid disappointment! Even right up until we are scheduled to start showing, you'll still be able to book yourself on.
We'll work hard to fulfill all of our events and experiences and try to carry out regardless. We've got a super team to make us safe!
If we do have to cancel due to extreme weather conditions...thunder/lightning, high winds and torrential rain...we'll postpone and in the first instance offer you the new dates and in the second instance a refund. We'll attempt to contact every customer once a final decision has been made, alternatively, you can keep an eye on our website and social pages or attempt to get in touch via the website link at the bottom of this page.
The darker the better.
For our Open Air Cinema, we'll try to screen as soon as the sun has put his/her hat on. The screening times listed on our website/3rd party advertisements are an approximate based on when the sun is likely to set. We won't screen before the time scheduled on the ticket listings, but please be advised, we are bound by the beautiful night sky. As soon as we can we'll start the show. In the meantime, enjoy the atmosphere, catch up with friends and family and grab a bite to eat!
Depending on the type of set up you have, you may be able to screen earlier then the sun sets. Best to get in touch if you have some specific time requirements you want to stick to.
The site is accessible for wheel chair access with disabled WC's. It's worth mentioning the car park is gravel and at times we could be sat on an slightly uneven grass area. Sometimes grass get's really wet and a bit boggy. Taking all that into consideration, if you need any additional support, please let us know. We are a right friendly and helpful bunch! In all serious, please drop us an email and let us know if you do require particular access or disabled WC's so we can make sure we have staff in place where necessary.
Professional service, Gemma explained how they set up when we booked and asked us about what we wanted. We booked the cinema package the set up was great with lots of extras. The little heater was brilliant and meant we could camp out even in the colder weather. This was great for all ages and was a lovely way to create a birthday memory for my teenager.
I booked with Horizon with the idea to plan a special night for my partner who I was going to ask to move in. During the first contact Gemma was great, asking a lot of questions about what I wanted to do and how I saw it playing out. We ended up bashing around some ideas and came up with the best set up that I couldn't have even dreamed off. video montage/music/carpet picnic. Like something out of a movie. Firstly we had the most amazing service from the team throughout - from booking to arriving for set up to packing away the following morning, everything was so well organised. The bell tent itself was the most beautiful thing ever. The amount of detail and effort that went into it was just incredible. From all of the gorgeous soft furnishings to the fairy lights, wax melts, heater and prosecco & treats were just faultless. I couldn't recommend it enough, it was truly magical for any occasion.
